TADA! Youth Theater, the Drama Desk and Coming Up Taller Award-winning organization, which offers a diverse group of young people the opportunity to explore and perform musical theater, is holding OPEN auditions on October 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th, and 12th for their FREE year-round Resident Youth Ensemble program. Auditions will be held at TADA! Youth Theater, located at 15 W. 28th St., 3rd fl. (btw. Broadway & Fifth Ave.)
TADA! and Artistic Director, Janine Nina Trevens, invite children ages 8-18 to try out and Trevens states: “no experience is necessary, just talent, time and commitment.” TADA! offers this program for free to accepted participants from all walks of life and seeks young people who want to engage in a professional theater program while still being kids and themselves.
No preparation is needed. At the audition a song and dance will be taught and the children are seen in groups. Once caccepted into the ensemble, children have to opportunity perform in original musicals on an Off-Broadway stage, receive FREE acting, dancing and vocal training year round, and are in a place where they they can belong.
Past ensemble members include Kerry Washington, Ricki Lake, Josh Peck, Jordan Peele and Azealia Banks. TADA!’s current ensemble member Derek Johnson has just premiered in Broadway’s Lion King as Simba.

Since 1984, TADA! Youth Theater has been providing young people of all different backgrounds the opportunity to explore and perform musical theater together in an educational, supportive and professional environment. Every year, TADA! produces: original musical theater productions performed by kids for family audiences; a discounted ticket program; free pre-professional training and youth development opportunities through the Resident Youth Ensemble composed of over 80 NYC kids ages 8-18; renowned Arts Education in-school residencies and after-school programs; and theater classes and camps for kids of all ages taught by professional Teaching Artists and for which need-based financial aid is readily available.
