Shakespeare Royal Oak announces 2019 season and auditions

Othello

July 25 - August 4

The Tempest

July 27 - August 4

Shakespeare Royal Oak has announced that auditions for its 19th season will be held on Sunday, February 24 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm and Monday, February 25 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Starr Presbyterian Church at 13 Mile and Crooks roads in Royal Oak. Michigan's premier outdoor Shakespeare festival will be casting for its professional main stage production, Othello directed by Frannie Shepherd-Bates and its Daylight Family Show,The Tempest directed by Barton Bund.

Interested actors may visit
www.shakespeareroyaloak.com and sign up for a five-minute appointment.Those auditioning should bring two headshots and resumes as well as prepare either one Shakespearean monologue no longer than four minutes or two contrasting Shakespeare monologues with a total length of less than four minutes combined. Limited Actor's Equity roles are available under a special appearance contract. All Non-Equity actors will be paid a stipend.

Othello

Directed by Frannie Shepherd-Bates, Othello will play Thursday-Sunday evenings July 25 - Aug 4.

The Tempest

Directed by Barton Bund, this family-friendly adaptation will appear Wednesday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons July 27 - Aug 4 with a special preview performance in early July.
