Water Works Theatre Company announces auditions
16th Annual Shakespeare Royal Oak set to cast two shows

Richard III
July 28 - August 7

Twelfth Night
August 2-7

Auditions scheduled for March 5, 6 and 7
It may be the middle of winter, but Water Works Theatre Company is happy to remind Detroiters that Summer Is Coming with the announcement of auditions for its 16th season ofShakespeare Royal Oak in Starr Jaycee Park. Auditions for the annual outdoor professional theatre festival will take place March 5,6 and 7. This season, Water Works will present Richard III, directed by Stephanie Buck, July 28 - August 7 as the festival's main stage performance. For its popular daylight family show, the theatre company will present Twelfth Night, directed by Nancy Kammer,August 2-7. Performance dates, times and prices will be announced at a later date.

Auditions will take place from 1:00pm - 9:00pm March 5 and 6 at Starr Presbyterian Church at the corner of 13 Mile and Crooks Road in Royal Oak. Interested actors should prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues (up to 4 minutes total) and Email a preferred date and time along with their contact information to

. Audition reservations can also be made by calling
(248) 399-3727. Actors should bring two copies of their resume and headshot to the audition. Call backs will be scheduled for Monday, March 7 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Shakespeare Royal Oak will also have positions available for acting interns this season. Students interested in acting internships should also make an appointment to attend auditions.

Both shows are open to Actors' Equity and non-equity performers. All roles are available with the exception of Richard and Anne in Richard III. Equity members will work under a special appearance contract and non-equity actors will be paid a small stipend. Non-Equity rehearsals will begin June 25with Equity rehearsals beginning July 1.
