GENERAL AUDITIONS SCHEDULED FOR PRTC 2014 / 2015 SEASON
Actors may make appointments beginning January 13
The Purple Rose Theatre Company will hold general auditions for roles
in their 2014 / 2015 season on Monday, February 10 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Tuesday,
February 11 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Auditions will be held at The Purple Rose Theatre
Company, 137 Park Street, Chelsea, Michigan 48118. Audition appointments are required
and can be made beginning Monday, January 13 by calling the PRTC Administration Office at
734.433.7782; office hours are Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Both
Equity and non-Equity actors are encouraged to audition.
Actors will be asked to perform a one-minute contemporary comedic monologue and should
bring a current headshot and resume to the audition. The Purple Rose Theatre Company is
seeking male actors ages 21 and older, and female actors ages 15 and older for roles in the
upcoming season. Callbacks for specific roles in specific productions will be held at a later
date. Actors will be notified by phone if they are being invited to callbacks, which are not
currently scheduled.
If an actor is unable to attend general auditions, he/she may submit a current headshot
and resume to the attention of Guy Sanville, Artistic Director, at The Purple Rose Theatre
Company, 137 Park Street, Chelsea, Michigan 48118.
The tentative 2014 / 2015 Season will include Annapurna by Sharr White, Out of the City, a
world premiere by Leslie Ayvazian, Talley's Folly by Lanford Wilson, and 2 A.Z., a world premiere
by Michael Brian Ogden. The Purple Rose Theatre Company operates under an SPT Tier 8
contract with Actors’ Equity Association and employs both Equity and non-Equity actors. The
current Equity salary is $474.00 per week.
Founded in 1991 by actor and Chelsea native, Jeff Daniels, The Purple Rose Theatre
Company (PRTC) is the home of world-class, original American theatre. The PRTC is a
professional theatre company with roots in the Midwest that takes a handcrafted, artisanal
approach to producing new and classic American plays that are nothing less than one-of-a-
kind experiences.
The PRTC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit professional theatre operating under
a Small Professional Theatre agreement with the Actors’ Equity Association.
