FOUR SHOWS; TWO THEATRES; ONE AUDITION!
CenterStage in Lake Forest and Three Brothers Theatre in Waukegan are proud to announce that the first “Northern North Shore Unified Generals” will be held on Thurs, Nov 29, from 7p-9:45p, and Sat, Dec 1, from 11a-3:15p, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest (700 Sheridan Rd)!
Directors Barbara Anderson, Caroline Beadle, and Edward Kuffert invite men and women, ages 20 to 70’s, of any race/ethnicity to audition for:
- Jane Martin’s smart, acerbic, madcap comedy ANTON IN SHOW BUSINESS
- David Auburn’s PROOF, a Pulitzer-Prize-winning drama that combines elements of mystery and surprise with masterful storytelling
- Oscar Wilde’s outrageous and witty comedy THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST
- William Shakespeare’s delightful romantic comedy AS YOU LIKE IT.
To audition, follow these simple steps:
1. Prepare to perform a one-minute comic monologue from any era;

4. Be prepared to share any rehearsal conflicts at Callbacks.

ANTON IN SHOW BUSINESS, directed by Caroline Beadle, for Three Brothers Theatre. Needed: 6 women, aged 20-40’s, to perform roles of both sexes; At least 1 African-American woman needed. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 5:30p-7:30p, at the Three Brothers Downstage Theatre, 115 N. Genesee, Waukegan. The show performs at 7:30p, Friday, Feb 15 through Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Three Brothers Upstage Theatre, 221 N. Genesee, Waukegan. Rehearsals start at the beginning of January 2019.
PROOF, directed by Barbara Anderson, for Three Brothers Theatre. Needed are Catherine (20’s-30); her sister, Claire (30-40); their father (50’s-70’s); and his former PhD student Hal (30’s). Callbacks will be held on Monday, December 3, 6:30p-10p, at the Three Brothers Downstage Theatre, 115 N. Genesee, Waukegan. The show performs at 7:30p, Friday, April 5 through Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Three Brothers Upstage Theatre, 221 N. Genesee, Waukegan. Rehearsals start in late January or early February, 2019.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, directed by Edward Kuffert for CenterStage in Lake Forest. Needed are 3 men and 2 women, 40's-70's; and 2 men and 2 women, 20's-30's. You may be asked to give your monologue in an English Accent (Received Pronunciation). Callbacks will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest (700 Sheridan Rd) on Tues, Dec 4, from 7p-9:45p. The show performs March 15-24th, 2019, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30, Sundays at 3:00, at the Gorton Center, 400 E. Illinois, Lake Forest, IL 60045. AS YOU LIKE IT, directed by Barbara Anderson for CenterStage in Lake Forest. Needed are 2 men & 2 women 40’s-70’s; 2 men 30’s; 2 men 20’s-30; 4 women 20-30. Callbacks will be held in Early-Mid Spring, 2019, at a location to be determined. The show performs Saturday & Sunday afternoons, August 2-September 15, outdoors in parks in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Glenview, and Winnetka; with a possible indoor, evening performance in Chicago on Sept 15. Rehearsals start in Mid-Late June, in Lake Forest.
For those people without a car, all audition and call-back locations are walking distance from the Union Pacific North Line Metra: the downtown Lake Forest train station for Lake Forest locations, and the downtown Waukegan train station for Waukegan locations.
