WHAT TO PREPARE ??FOR ENSEMBLE CALL: Please bring BALLET/JAZZ shoes and 16 bars of a contemporary musical theatre song. Bring sheet music, as an accompanist will be provided for you. Please also bring a copy of your headshot and résumé. ??
FOR PRINCIPAL CALL: Please come prepared to sing a short 16 bar cut of a contemporary musical theatre song. Bring sheet music, as an accompanist will be provided for you. Please also bring a copy of your headshot and résumé.

NOËL Child Legit/Belt range C4 – G5
Young girl. (10-12) English accent. The epitome of Christmas spirit. Good hearted and charitable. Needs to be convincing through a whole range of emotions from heartbroken to joyous. Lynchpin of entire show.
NICK High Baritone range A2 – G4
Male. (40-55) Possibly English but not necessarily. Can be grouchy but has a generous nature. Has lost faith in the goodness of humanity.
DUCHESS Contralto-legit (with belt) range G3 – D5
Female. (40-45) Russian accent. An optimist in spite of her homelessness. Is a beacon for the other homeless people who love her. She must play wide range from comic to depressed.
EDGAR High Baritone range G2 – G4
Male. (55+) American. Ex-marine who needs to use a wheelchair. Loves baseball. Funny guy. Great line in wise cracks. He and Duchess look after each other.
CARNEGIE Baritone range A2 – F#4
Male. (40+) Drama teacher. Very affected. Models himself on Laurence Olivier etc. Fancies himself the greatest actor of his generation. Good comic relief. But he must also be able to play genuine pathos.
MOTHER / SWEETIE Soprano range C4 – G5
Female. (30’s). Noël’s mother. For most of the show plays comic character of Sweetie- swaddled in various costumes. But must also be revealed as Noel’s graceful and sweet mother. Full range of emotions from slapstick comedy reactions to genuine joy and sadness.
MAC Baritone range B2 – F4 Male. (40-60). An ex banker. Talks like a forensic accountant but also with an eccentric side. Broadly comic. American.
NAPOLEON Baritone range C3 – G4
Male (40+). French. Short in stature if possible. French accent mandatory. Melodramatically military in bearing and delivery.
