Disney's Newsies

Pioneer Theatre Company will produce Disney's Newsies, the long-running Disney hit and winner of the 2012 Tony for Best Musical Score. PTC's production will be in our traditional holiday slot.

Singing auditions will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. is reserved for Actors Equity Association members only. Callbacks will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017, by invitation only.

Dance auditions for male dancers only will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.Callbacks will be held Saturday September 16, 2017 by invitation only. Members of Actors Equity will be seen first.

All auditions will be held in Room 245 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. Singing audition slots are three minutes. A headshot and resume are recommended.

Singing auditions: Prepare a contemporary musical theatre selection that shows your vocal range.

Dance auditions: Be prepared to dance; bring a 16-bar vocal selection if you have one; not required.

All roles are available. Auditioners must come in to sign up on the callboard in Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. The sign-up sheet for BOTH auditions will be posted on Friday, August 11, 2017.

Rehearsal dates for the production are November 6 - November 30, 2017; performance dates are December 1 through December 16, 2017, with a possible extension through December 23.

PTC Artistic Director Karen Azenberg will direct and choreograph this production. Tom Griffin is musical directing.
