City Circle Acting Company Announces Auditions for New Play Festival
City Circle Acting Company of Coralville will hold auditions for its New Play Festival on Friday, August 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, August 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church, 2121 S. Ridge Drive in Coralville.
There are a variety of roles for actors ages 16 through adult. Come to the auditions prepared to read from sides which will be provided at the auditions. This is a general casting call after which actors will be chosen for specific 10-minute plays.
Because these 10-minute plays will require minimal rehearsal time, this is a wonderful opportunity for actors who don’t have the time to devote to a full-scale production as well as folks who haven’t acted but have always wanted to try it out. The rehearsal schedule will be worked out between the director and actors after auditions in order to accommodate any conflicts.
To schedule an audition, complete and submit the audition form at
www.citycircle.org. Once you submit the form, the producer will contact you with your appointment time. Walk-ins are always welcome, but those with appointments will take priority.
The New Play Festival will be held Saturday, September 26 at 7:30 pm at the Coralville Performing Arts Center. This biennial Festival celebrates up and coming playwrights as well as more established authors trying their hand at something new. The eight 10-minute plays chosen for performance were selected from more than 200 submissions.
