My Name is Asher Lev

Circle Theatre kicks off its 34th season with the local premiere of My Name Is Asher Lev, a beautiful and moving stage adaptation of Chaim Potok's beloved 1972 book. Set in post-war Brooklyn, the story revolves around a young art prodigy who must reconcile his passion for painting with his life as a young Hasidic Jew. When Asher's breakout piece causes controversy, he must decide whether to be true to himself or appease his family and community.

Auditions for My Name is Asher Lev will consist of cold readings of sides from the script.
