Murder in the Knife Room

Sunday, January 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Auditions will be at Rover Dramawerks, located at 221 W. Parker Road, Suite 580 in Plano, at the northwest corner of 75 and Parker Rd. in the Ruisseau Village Shopping Center.
Brief Synopsis:
One murder, ten suspects. Who killed Mysterious Host? Could it be Respected General? What about Wealthy Dowager? Or maybe it was Santa Claus. The mystery unfolds as Inexplicably Omniscient Inspector takes on his most thrilling and baffling murder case in the history of thrilling and baffling murder cases.
12 roles plus mixed ensemble.
Seeking an ethnically diverse cast of male and female actors ages 10-18. Gender specifications refer to the character, but not necessarily the actor. Ages refer exclusively to the characters as all roles will be played by youth actors.
MYSTERIOUS HOST: The host of the gathering and owner of the knife room. Must be capable of lying still for a long period of time. Male or Female. 30s
WEALTHY DOWAGER: An affluent widow willing to do whatever it takes to secure her social standing. Female 50s
DECREPIT INVALID: A 109 year old man who is not what he appears. Male 109/teens
POMPOUS MILLIONAIRE: An arrogant and crooked millionaire. Male or Female 40s
RESPECTED GENERAL: A retired military veteran who relies on unconventional methods to make tactical decisions. Male 60s
BRAINLESS MODEL: A beautiful runway-ready airhead. Female 20s
BOY BAND REJECT: The 6th Backstreet Boy who had a falling out with the industry after a major gaffe. Male late teens
INEXPLICABLY OMNISCIENT INSPECTOR: A brilliant investigator. Think a mash up of Sherlock Holmes and Wadsworth (Tim Curry in Clue). Doubles as Probably-Faking-It Deaf-Mute. Male or Female. 30s
SKANK: A promiscuous tramp. Male or Female. 20s
SANTA CLAUS: The real Santa? Male 60s-70s
SPOOKY PIRATE: A buccaneer who left a previously ordinary life for piracy. As stereotypical of a pirate as you can get. Male 30s-40s
STRUGGLING STAND-UP COMIC: A comedian who is so bad, it's funny. Male or Female 40s
REENACTMENT PLAYERS: An ensemble of performs who play various ensemble characters including soldiers, idea-pitchers, poolside widows, paramedics, the Backstreet Boys, pirates, and elves. Males and Females. Various ages.
All roles are available.

- Be prepared to read scenes from the script.
- Please bring a resume and head shot. If unavailable, a recent photo is fine.
- References may be required.
- Actors must be between 10 and 18 years of age (inclusive) at the time of the performances.
- Youth actors will not be paid.
- There are NO TUITION REQUIREMENTS OR OTHER FEES to be involved with this production.
- Rehearsals will be in Plano and will begin immediately after casting.
- Rehearsals will generally be weekday evenings and Sunday nights at Rover Dramawerks. Exact schedule TBD based on actor availability. Actors should be prepared to list all conflicts through February 25th at auditions. Actors with performance conflicts (Feb. 23-25) need not audition.
