AUDITIONS FOR

WOMEN WANTED TO BE SAWED IN HALF, LEVITATED

AND MADE TO DISAPPEAR

The World Famous Magician Wayne Alan is seeking two female assistants for his professional illusionist show to be performed at the Historic North Theatre in Danville, VA. This is a paid performance and payment terms will be discussed upon hire. The audition will be held Tuesday, August 21 at 6:30 PM at the Historic North Theatre, 629 North Main Street, Danville.

The first show date is Saturday, August 25th. The performers chosen will be given the opportunity to appear (or disappear as it were) in the monthly illusionist performance to be held at The Historic North Theatre. Rehearsals will take place a few days before the show date.

Performer requirements:

1. You MUST be at least 18 years of age.

2. You MUST be less than 5'5".

3. You MUST be around 130lbs or less.

4. You MUST be petite and limber

5. You MUST NOT be claustrophobic

Diversity is sought, so everyone who fits the requirements above is encouraged to audition. Acts you may be a part of include levitation, disappearing, and being sawed in half. Having past dance/theatre/performance experience is preferred, though if you have a strong enough stage presence, experience can be overlooked. For the audition, be prepared to showcase your best talents and demonstrate your flexibility, as many of the acts require squeezing into tight spaces.

Gala Grand Reopening will take place on August 25th. That is the 65th Anniversary of the opening of the North in 1947. The grand reopening will feature World Champion Illusionist Wayne Alan’s own show-Magic of the Masters-the World’s Most Famous Illusions-a modern look at Magic's Golden Oldies. It is a family friendly show with a touch of Broadway, Las Vegas and Branson combined. This big stage magic show will be the theatres’s resident show (LikeShear Madness at the Kennedy Center which has been there for over 20 years.) and will be presented on the second Saturday of each month. Mr. Alan is also the new owner of The Historic North Theatre.

www.TheNorthTheatre.com or by calling the box office at 434-793-SHOW (7469). The theatre will be booking top celebrity touring concerts and shows to perform in this beautiful 500-seat venue. They will also host a number of other productions, festivals and special events. The goal is to provide top quality, wholesome and family friendly entertainment. The new owner said, “We will strive to live up to the North’s first advertisement in the 1947 newspaper: “Visit Danville’s new and finest theatre for the best in entertainment.”

The schedule of shows includes:

Thurs., August 23-Preview Show-Magic of the Masters Close-Up Magic Show starring celebrity magician and World Champion Illusionist Wayne Alan in the Balcony Mini Theatre. Only 100 seats will be available for this intimate show of world class sleight of hand.

Sat., September 8-Celebrity magician and World Champion Illusionist Wayne Alan’s big stage show Magic of the Masters-the World’s Most Famous Illusions. This modern look at Magic's Golden Oldies will appear there once a month.

Fri., Aug. 24- Preview Show-Professional Touring Show-It Was A Very Good Year starring Tony Sands-the top Frank Sinatra Tribute Show. Mr. Sands regularly appears at the world famous Tropicana Casino and Resort Hotel in Atlantic City and has been dazzling audiences throughout the United States for many years. His silky, mesmerizing and tantalizing renditions of the “Chairman of the Board’s” song stylings has caught the eye of the entertainment community and audiences from around the country.

Sat., Aug. 25-Gala Grand Reopening-this is 65th Anniversary of the opening of the North in 1947. Additional touring shows and concerts will be announced in the near future. Due to the nature of theatrical bookings, all shows, dates and times are subject to change.
