SCERA’s Theatre for Young Audiences announces December 15 auditions for new world premiere musical “Little Red”
SCERA’s Indoor Season announces auditions for its Winter 2018 Theatre for Young Audiences production of “Little Red,” the world premiere of an original one hour musical with book by Chase Ramsey and music and lyrics by David Paul Smith.
“Little Red” will play at the SCERA Center for the Arts February 5-23, 2018 with 10:00 am matinees Monday through Friday and 7:00pm shows on Mondays and Friday evenings.
The musical is cast with all adult actors, and auditions for ages 18 and older will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 7:00-9:00pm in Studio 3 at SCERA Center for the Arts,
745 South State, Orem. No appointment is necessary. There are roles for 2 women and 3 men, and auditioners should prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song. IPOD playback will be provided. A resume and headshot is helpful, but not required.
Cast members must be available for 10am-12Noon rehearsals beginning the end of December and for all morning matinees and evening performances.
ABOUT THE SHOW: One of world’s most celebrated heroes, Little Red Riding Hood now has her very own musical. A world premiere original from Chase Ramsey and David Paul Smith, Little Red is all about being brave as the young “caped” crusader takes on the Big Bad Wolf and encourages the scared townspeople to stop hiding. Smith and Ramsey’s unique focus on message and audience interaction brings a bold new twist to the famous tale, as a little girl in red decides to take off her hood, clench her fists and fight back, inspiring us all to face our own big bad fears! Filled with heart, wit and edge-of-your-seat suspenseful fun, Little Red’s courageous journey to Grandma’s house is the musical adventure of a lifetime!
