“Las Vegas Has Talent” Online Auditions Now Open
Finalists to perform in free show at Suncoast Showroom beginning Tuesday, February 18
Desert Productions invites Las Vegas to bring their singing, dancing, magic and other variety-act talents to the Suncoast Showroom stage for “Las Vegas Has Talent!,” a free variety show that begins Tuesday, February 18.
Each Tuesday for 12 weeks, top local talents selected from an online applicant pool will face off in a free, 2 p.m. show at the Suncoast Showroom. Each show will be hosted by multi-talented Las Vegas local Doug Starks of “The Rat Pack is Back” at the Sahara Hotel & Casino.
“We’re excited to host Las Vegas Has Talent!, a unique and engaging show that will showcase new and rising talents throughout the Las Vegas Valley,” said Terry Jenkins, corporate director of entertainment for Boyd Gaming.
In order to compete, contestants must sign up in advance at DesertProductionsLV.com, on the Las Vegas Has Talent page. All contestants must be 18 years of age or older. Applications will be accepted through April 8; the sooner applicants submit their materials, the sooner they will be selected for performance in the early rounds of competition. Applications will be screened for quality of performance, originality, stage presence and audience appeal; selected applicants will be contacted to coordinate the date of their featured performance.
At initial competition rounds, six contestants will face off for the right to advance to the quarterfinals. Contestants will be judged on quality of performance, originality, stage presence and audience applause, with three performers selected each week to advance in the competition. A panel of surprise celebrity guest judges and audience applause are the deciding factors of who moves on in the competition. Quarterfinal shows will occur every third week throughout the twelve week run with three of the quarter finalists moving on to the semi-final competition, to be held on April 29.
Six semifinalists will then face off in a final showdown on Tuesday, May 6, where one grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and a chance to make a guest appearance in the Suncoast’s long-running variety show, Variety at The Suncoast. Variety at The Suncoast starts at 2pm every Thursday at the Suncoast Showroom.
Audience members must 21 or over and have a B Connected card to attend.
