Blueberry Hill
Directed by Butch Caire
Rehearsals begin August 18, 2013
Performances are September 20-October 6, 2013 in Teatro Wego! and October 18-27 Northshore
This New Orleans "Jukebox Musical" is truly homegrown with a story by Butch Caire featuring classic New Orleans R&B songs made famous by local musical icons like Fats Domino, Irma Thomas, Ernie K-Doe, and many others! Not a revue type show or a retelling of the history of the recording business, Blueberry Hill instead tells a new story of everyday people who find themselves dealing with love & betrayal, laughter & tears. Audiences will find themselves sharing in the joy and sadness onstage and singing along as the plot takes some unexpected twists while bringing to life the songs they know and love.
Writer/director and Big Easy Award winner as Best Director (JPAS' "The Light in the Piazza"), Butch Caire is looking for actors with strong voices who can dance well, harmonize, and bring out the tenderness, playfulness, pathos, and (above all) humor of these classic R&B songs.
Auditioners should come prepared to sing Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill," Irma Thomas' "It's Raining," and Art Neville's "All These Things." We will have music for these songs in a variety of keys. Come find your thrill at BLUEBERRY HILL!

A new and shocking version of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of depravity, lust, love and horror. On the fog-bound streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll's experiments with exotic "powders and tinctures" have brought forth his other self-Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend. When Hyde meets a woman who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments. But Hyde has other ideas, and so the two sides battle each other in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to determine who shall be the master and who his slave. With multiple Hydes portrayed by members of the cast.
