TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR TWO SHOWS,
INHERIT THE WIND and DIAL M FOR MURDER,
ON JUNE 3, 2018
Lakewood Theatre Company will be having auditions to complete the casting for Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee and Dial M for Murder by Frederick Knott on SUNDAY, JUNE 3. Sign up online to secure an audition appointment at this link:

Dial M for Murder will be directed by David Sikking
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition. All roles receive remuneration. For a breakdown of roles, see Lakewood’s website at

Please bring a hard copy of resume and headshot with you to the audition. Actors should prepare a one-minute monologue. Those auditioning for Inherit the Wind should also prepare an a acapella song or hymnal. (Happy Birthday is appropriate too). Actors may be asked to cold read from the script. Conflicts not listed at time of auditions may not be honored.
Inherit the Wind rehearsals will begin September 24. The tentative schedule with be Mon-Thursday 6:30 pm-10 pm, Sat 10 am-4 pm, Sunday 10 am-4 pm, Fridays will be off.
Dial M for Murder rehearsals will begin rehearsals the end of November. Schedule TBD.
Performance Schedule:
Inherit the Wind opens November 2, 2018 and continues through December 9, 2018.
Dial M for Murder opens January 4, 2019 and runs until February 10, 2019.
Performances for both productions are Thurs. – Sat. at 7:30 pm, some Sundays at 7:00 pm, some Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm and two Wednesday performances at 7:30 PM. Lakewood Theatre Company features an intimate 220-seat theatre located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.
About the plays:
INHERIT THE WIND A classic work of American theatre, based on the Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925, about a teacher’s choice to teach evolution in the classroom which pitted well-known lawyers Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan against one another. Inherit the Wind explores threats to learning and intellectual freedom in a dramatic courtroom retelling.
DIAL M FOR MURDER Tony Wendice, a professional tennis player,
plans to have his socialite wife Margot murdered to inherit her fortune. He comes up with the perfect plan to kill her – now all he has to do is make sure she dies.
