The Family Theatre Company is casting for its upcoming production of IN THE HEIGHTS. Performances will be February 7, 2013 – March 17, 2013 at THE WESTCHESTER BROADWAY THEATRE in Elmsford, NY. There will be a non-equity monitor. Singers please prepare 16 bars appropriate for the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key, an accompanist will be provided. Singers may be asked to stay and dance, so come prepared with appropriate clothes and shoes. Dancers, be warmed up and ready to dance. Dress appropriately.
Women should bring both character shoes and jazz shoes. Men, please wear jazz shoes or jazz sneakers. Auditions are open to actors from all ethnic groups. Latin performers are particularly encouraged to attend. You must be authorized to work in the United States. BENNY UNDERSTUDY ONLY: late 20s, African-American, he falls in love with Nina; hardworking, good guy; can be a character actor; Bari-tenor; moves well. VANESSA UNDERSTUDY ONLY: Late 20s; Usnavi's love interest; beautiful, strong high belt; great dancer. SONNY: Early 20s; Usnavi's sassy, lazy, yet ambitious younger cousin who works in the bodega; a strong mover.
