Anchorage Community Theatre News
Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who made ACT's 58th season such a success. We appreciate our actors, technical show folks, volunteers, donors, board member, patrons and all our supporters. And while our regular season is over, our theatre will be in use all summer -- starting tonight and tomorrow evening with auditions for our summer play.
Hamlet II Auditions.
Auditions for Hamlet II (Better Than the Original), directed by Dave Block, are scheduled for tonight and tomorrow evening, May 23 & 24, from 6 to 8:30. The play runs from July 6 - 29 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 and Sunday afternoons at 3. It is a mad and zany parody of Shakespeare's tragedy with a much happier ending. Also included are the loves, hates, sword fights, poetry, religion, treachery and deceit that go with the territory, as well as occasional stabs at the meaning of life. Auditions are held at ACT Studio Theatre. No preparation of material is necessary. You will be asked to read from the script of the play to be auditioned for, in dialogue with others.
