South Bend Civic Theatre announces auditions for World Premiere Production of Frankenstein August 18-19!
South Bend Civic Theatre will hold auditions August 18-19 at 6:00 PM, for the original adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in the Wilson Theatre, located at 403 N. Main Street. Adapted by local playwright Jim Geisel and directed by Terry Farren, this unique take on the legendary story will need an ensemble of male and female adult actors. Actors will play multiple roles as well as collaborating on the creation of an original piece of theatre. Prospective actors are encouraged to wear clothing appropriate for movement.

South Bend Civic Theatre, an award-winning and nationally ranked theatre, is the oldest continuously operating community theatre company in the South Bend/Mishawaka area. Founded in 1957, it staged most of its productions from 1968 to 2007 at The Firehouse, a local historic landmark located at 701 Portage Ave., in the city’s historic Park Avenue neighborhood. South Bend Civic Theatre productions feature volunteer actors drawn from the Michiana region. Directors attempt to schedule rehearsals around individual conflicts as best they can. SBCT welcomes and encourages actors of all experience levels, from novices eager to get the acting bug to seasoned veterans, to their auditions. SBCT is also committed to reflecting the diversity of the community and encourages and welcomes actors of all backgrounds to audition.
