CASTING CALL: All black cast for a new musical
PROJECT TITLE: Flo
PROJECT TYPE: world premiere musical about Florence Ballard founding member of The Primettes later to be known as The Supremes.
PROJECT SUMMARY:
The first time Florence Ballard’s story has been told. You may know Diana Ross and Mary Wilson who made up the hit-making girl group The Supremes, but the one who started it all was Florence Ballard. The musical takes you to when it all began up to 1963 when they had their first hit record, “When the Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes.”
