Children's auditions for the part of Raynell in PTC's upcoming production of Fences will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Callbacks will be held at a later date by invitation only.
The part of Raynell is a child, and the actor must be believable as a 5-6 year old African-American girl.
Fences is a Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning family drama set in the 1950s. It is part of August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle a monumental exploration of the African American experience in America.
Rehearsal dates for Fences are December 12 - January 5, 2016; performance dates are January 6 through January 21, 2017. Guest artist Timothy Douglas will direct this production.
Auditions will be held in Room 245 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. Each audition slot is three minutes. Sides will be provided. A headshot and resume are recommended.
Auditioners should come in to sign up on the callboard in Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre, however walk-ins are also encouraged.
The sign-up sheet will be posted on October 21, 2016.
