Announcing Auditions for TownSquare Players production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid!
Monday, November 13th, Tuesday, November 14th and Callbacks by invitation only on Thursday, November 16th
from 6:30-10 pm.

All auditions will be held at the historic Opera House in Woodstock, IL., 121 W. Van Buren St. Please enter the audition by using the Dean Street side door.
We ask that you prepare a song no longer than 1 minute that best represents your voice. It does not have to be a song from The Little Mermaid. We will not be listening to entire song so be prepared to cut off your audition piece after one minute! Please bring own sheet music and an accompanist will be provided.
Plan on staying for an hour as there will also be a dance audition, so be prepared to dance. Please bring shoes and wear comfortable clothes that you can move in for the dance portion of the audition.
Rehearsals will start Monday December 11th thru Sunday December 17th then a 3-week break. Rehearsals will resume on Sunday January 7th. Rehearsal times are Sundays 4pm to 7pm and Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 10pm.
Performances are the first 3 weekends of March. (March 2nd to March 18th)
March: Fri. 2nd, Fri. 9th, Sat. 10th, Fri. 16th and Sat. 17th at 8:00pm
March: Sat. 3rd, Sun. 4th, Sat. 10th, Sun. 11th, Sat. 17th and Sun. 18th at 2:00pm.
Director/Choreographer Billy Seger is looking to cast: 12 females, 12 males, 1 boy aged 10-16
Characters List: suggested age range but not limited to:
+Ariel- A strong-willed teenaged mermaid who longs to be human; curious, accepting; mezzo soprano w/strong top range, age range (16-25)
+Prince Eric- adventurous human monarch, charming and sensitive in nature; tenor, age range (16-30)
+Ursula- tentacled and manipulative Sea Witch; sister to King Triton; devious, glamorous; contralto, age range (30-50)
+King Triton- King of the Sea, struggles to balance political and paternal powers, baritone, age range (35-60)
+Grimsby- Eric’s prim and proper valet and father figure; Doesn’t need to be a singer, age range (35-60)
+Sebastian- choirmaster of Triton’s court, a meticulous and uptight crab with broad Caribbean accent, tenor, age range (30-60)
+Flounder- Ariel’s sincere and sensitive best friend, tenor, young boy, age range (10-16) (We are looking for a boy but would possibly consider a girl)
+Scuttle- a know-it-all seagull who serves as Ariel’s expert on all things human, strong tapper; tenor, age range 18+
+Flotsam & Jetsam- Ursula’s sinister lackeys; tenor’s or alto’s or a combination; age range 18+
Featured Ensemble will play parts of Mersisters, Maids, Princesses, Sea Creatures, Gulls, Pilot, Chef Louis, Sailors, Windward and Leeward. This is a show with many parts and everyone will be featured!
