Announcing auditions for the musical production, CRAZY FOR YOU, THE NEW GERSHWIN MUSICAL, with Music and Lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and Book by Ken Ludwig. Co-Conception by Ken Ludwig and Mike Ockrent. Inspired by Material by Guy Bolton and John McGowan. Originally produced on Broadway by Roger Horchow and Elizabeth Williams.

Saturday, December 12th, 2015 at 2 p.m.
Sunday, December 13th, 2015 at 6 p.m.

Auditions will be held at Bay City Players, 1214 Columbus Avenue, in Bay City.

Performance dates are April 22 – 24 & April 29 – May 1, 2016

Parts available:

Principals: 4 Women to play age 25 and up and 7 Men to play age 25 and up

Tap Ensemble: 8 Women and 6 Men ages 17 and up Singing

Ensemble: 6 Women and 6 Men ages 17 and up

This show requires a large ensemble of singers and well as tap dancers. There are several large musical numbers that require both talents. Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t a tap dancer, we will teach you! There are many featured roles for both men and women including a men’s quartet. Those auditioning will be asked to sing and read selections from the script and learn dance movement so wear comfortable clothes. Also bring your calendar and be prepared to communicate any scheduling conflicts. Most important relax and have fun. This is a great show!

CRAZY FOR YOU™ is the story of Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930's playboy whose dream in life is to dance. And despite the serious efforts of his mother and soon-to-be ex-fiancée, Bobby achieves his dream! Memorable Gershwin tunes include I Can’t Be Bothered Now, Bidin’ My Time, I Got Rhythm, Naughty Baby, They Can’t Take That Away from Me, But Not for Me, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Embraceable You and Someone to Watch Over Me. It’s a high energy comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers and classic Gershwin music.
