COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA (ABRIDGED) - Emergent Arts

Emergent Arts Auditions for Complete History of America (abridged)

Ypsilanti- Emergent Arts will hold auditions by cold reading from the script for the comedy The Complete History of America (abridged) by Adam Long, Reed Martin, and Austin Tichenor, at The Mix Studio Theater, 8 N. Washington, Ypsilanti, Michigan. Directed by Paul Bianchi. Auditions are Sunday May 18 at 4:30 pm, and Monday May 19 at 6:30 pm.

Can you carry a tune (but not necessarily sing)? Play guitar or accordion or some other instrument? Impersonate Humphrey Bogart, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., Abraham Lincoln? Are you creative and enjoy making props? Then read on...or better yet, audition! Comedic timing is essential. Willingness to have fun is vital.

The play is a fast-paced romp through American history. Three actors present the history of America, stepping in and out of roles while racing around the theater creating chaos and laughter. The script is by three men but the director will consider casting against type. Decisions will be made by 5/21.

Rehearsals will be 5 nights a week for 3-4 hours nightly beginning May 26; typically Sunday - Thursday but based on actor availability. Cast will have two weeks to get off book for an initial number of pages (since first two weeks will be only partial rehearsal weeks). The expectation is that you will continue to come to rehearsal off book for pages being worked.

Location: The Mix Studio Theater, 8 N. Washington St., Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197.

Dates and Times: Sunday May 18 at 4:30 pm, and Monday May 19 at 6:30 pm.
