Auditions for Come Back to the Five & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean

Auditions for Come Back to the Five & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean will be held at the theater, on Thursday, December 5 at 7PM, and Saturday, December 7 at 2PM, with callbacks (if needed) on Sunday, December 8 at 6PM. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Performances run February 21 through March 15 at the Greenbelt Arts Center. All roles are open, non-union and unpaid. Synopsis: The play evolves around a James Dean fan club that reunites at a Texas five-and-dime store.

Director Franklin Akers is casting the following roles:

Juanita - (45-60) Owner of the 5 &l Dime and much older than the members of the Jimmy Dean Fan Club. She is a simple Texas woman with a home permanent and dresses plainly. She is a kind, religiously strict woman.

Mona - (35-40) The organizer of the Fan Club reunion. She has remained in this small town and has changed very little in 20 years. She dresses simply and makes little effort to enhance her apperance. She is an overly protective mother to the son she has raised alone.

Sissy - (35-40) A bleached blonde, flashy dresser with lots of cheap jewelry and make-up. Her most outstanding feature is her gigantic breasts. Her life has always revolved around her sexy look and her attractiveness to men.

Stella May - (35-40) Has done well in her marriage, married money, and dresses in the best available. She is loud, boisterous, and can be obnoxious.

Edna - (30-35) Quiet, insecure, and very pregnant. She works as a beautician, lives with her husband and other children. She leads a simple life, and dresses simply.

Joanne - (35-40) The surpirse visitor at the reunion. She is attractive, sophisticated, well dressed, and arrives in a sports car. She is the catalyst who tells the truth and forces the others to look at themselves; she knows them all and their secrets.

Joe - (16-19)
