CINDERELLA - Lyric Stage

PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Lyric Stage is seeking a diverse cast of excellent Union and Non-Union singer/dancer/actors for its upcoming musical production of the Original Version of
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA. This timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in
1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in
1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in
1997, which starred R&B singer Brandy as Cinderella and the legendary Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. CINDERELLA is based on the fairy tale by
Charles Perrault, with music by
Richard Rodgers, lyrics/book by
Oscar Hammerstein II. Please note this is the Original Version of CINDERELLA, and not the 2013 Broadway Version.

Penny Ayn Maas, whose recent credits with Lyric Stage include Man of La Mancha, I Do! I Do!, and Guys & Dolls, returns to Lyric Stage to serve as the production’s Director/Choreographer.
Bruce Greer, whose recent Lyric Stage credits include Mirette, Man of La Mancha, and Songs For A New World, also returns to Lyric Stage to serve as the production’s Music Director/Conductor.
