AUDITIONS FOR CHRISTMAS ON THE YUKON
Anchorage Community Theatre commissioned P. Shane Mitchell to write a holiday show for this year. Christmas on the Yukon is set in the Klondike gold rush. A blizzard isolates two teenage girls in their family trading post. They face the prospect of being separated from their parents for Christmas. Strangers, stranded by the storm, begin to fill the trading post. Among them is a fugitive wanted for murder.
Auditions are set for Saturday, October 5, 10 am to noon; and, Monday, October 7, 6-8 pm at ACT, 1133 E. 70th Avenue. Roles include 4 female (2 teens; 2 mature); 6 male (1 teen, 1 30’s, 1 young Athabascan, 3 mature). Krista Schwarting directs. The show runs November 22 to December 22.
