NON-AEA Auditions for “CASTING: THE PERILS OF OBEDIENCE”
SEEKING Talented Performance Artist/Actors for Performance Art Piece. Must be comfortable devising new text and movement. May be any Age, Race or Gender. It is essential that candidates have a strong sense of their own voice, limits and abilities, since the final performance will be built around their impulses. Candidates selected will work with an award-winning team of directors, film makers and visual artists for the North American Premiere of “CASTING: THE PERILS OF OBEDIENCE”, to be performed at Abrons Arts Center. The piece is a framework for questioning the roles of power inherent in the creative process.
PLEASE BRING A PICTURE AND RESUME, stapled together. No need to prepare any text in advance. The initial audition will consist of a rapid series of questions, possibly a cold reading, and theater exercises with the director. Initial auditions will be videotaped. If you play a musical instrument, please bring it.

Actors must be available for the Performance which will take place Friday, Nov 2nd & Saturday, Nov 3rd, 7:30pm - 9:30pm (The Call Back Audition is the Performance Piece, and is by invitation only. Actors invited to CallBacks must be available to stay the full time for both evenings. The Performance Piece will be videotaped, in front of a live audience.)
