Director Kelsee B. Hankins, Vocal Director Scott A. Fleshood, and Choreographer D. Scott Robinsonare looking for a diverse group of 25 males and females (ages 18 and under) for this high energy youth musical. Even if your child doesn't read yet, they are welcome to audition! We are interested in all ages!
Please come with 16-20 measures of a prepared song (verse and a chorus) in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. You should be prepared to read from the script and to perform a short dance movement audition. If you are a tap dancer, please bring tap shoes and be prepared to learn a short routine. Please dress to dance. All roles are available. BUGSY MALONE JUNIOR is scheduled for six performances, weekends July 29-August 7, 2016. Please bring a list of all conflicts from June through early August 2016.
Please
contact us to peruse a copy of the script beforehand. Based on the hit 1976 film starring a pre-teen Scott Baio and Jodie Foster and featuring a catchy, swinging score by the composer of The Muppet Movie, BUGSY MALONE JUNIOR is good, clean, comedic fun! Two gangs comprised completely of children, square off in a 1920s rivalry of Capone-ian standards. Dandy Dan's gang has gotten the upper hand since obtaining the splurge gun, a weapon that shoots whipped cream. Now Fat Sam and his bumbling buffoons are in real trouble! Bugsy Malone, a one-time boxer, is thrust not-so-willingly into the gangster limelight when he becomes the last chance Fat Sam's gang has of surviving.
