WAUKESHA CIVIC THEATRE ANNOUNCES OPEN AUDITIONS:

Open auditions for the Waukesha Civic Theatre’s production of
Billy Elliot The Musical will be held:
Sunday, June 24, 2018, starting at 7:00 pm
Tuesday, June 26, 2018, starting at 7:00 pm
Wednesday, June 27, 2018, starting at 7:00 pm
Callbacks, if needed, will be on June 28, 2018, starting at 7:00 pm
Auditions will be held at the Waukesha Civic Theatre Building at
264 West Main Street, Waukesha. Please enter through the doors on Riverfront Street. Those auditioning should be prepared to sing, dance, and possibly read from the script. Please prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Please bring sheet music in your key for the accompanist. Unaccompanied auditions are discouraged. Wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable moving in. If you have tap shoes, especially if you are auditioning for Billy and/or Michael, feel free to bring them. Please note there are adult situations and language in
Billy Elliot The Musical.
The character of Billy needs to have some experience with ballet, tap, and jazz dance styles. The character of Michael tap dances. Some ballet experience is helpful for girls. No previous dance experience is required for the adults - EXCEPT Mrs. Wilkinson (ballet & jazz), Mr. Braithwaite (jazz) and Adult Billy (ballet). Character descriptions and a general casting concept from the director are also available on the WCT website.

audition page and clicking on the link provided. Walk in auditions will be allowed, but will be seen after scheduled auditions are completed. If you will not arrive at auditions until 8:30 or later, and are not signing up for an audition spot online, please contact the theatre so the director can be informed. Some actors may be asked to stay past their scheduled time.
Set during the miners’ strike of 1984-85, this musical follows Billy as he trades in boxing gloves for ballet shoes and develops the courage to be uniquely himself.
All roles are open.
There are 3 roles for boys age 9-12.
There are 11 roles for girls age 9-12.
There are 16 roles for men age 17-70.
There are 4 roles for women age 25-50.
There is 1 role for a woman age 60-75.
