Seeking/Roles Available:
SEEKING NON-EQUITY ACTORS FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
Corie Bratter – Female, Early 20s: A vibrant, young bride just six days into her marriage. Corie is out of her mother’s house in the suburbs for the first time and eager to experience life in the city. Her worldview is naïve and childlike, and her emotions drive her from moment to moment.
Paul Bratter – Male, 26: Corie’s husband, a new lawyer working at his first job out of law school. Paul is levelheaded and conservative in appearance and action, always thinking through every situation without letting his emotions get in the way of his goals.
Ethel Banks – Female, Late 40s: Corie’s mother, a widow and a new empty nester. Ethel has lived a sheltered life in New Jersey, and is anxious about letting Corie grow up and scared of being alone. Ethel is outwardly polite and reserved, always saying the things she thinks people expect to hear, but secretly judgmental of anything that doesn’t fit into her view of propriety.
Victor Velasco – Male, 58: The Bratter’s upstairs neighbor. An ageless and eccentric world traveler, Mr. Velasco inserts himself into the Bratter’s life on their first day in their new apartment and tries to help Corie experience a taste of the world. A cook, an artist, a musician, and a ceaseless flirt; Mr. Velasco is the epitome of a renaissance man.
Telephone Repair Man – Male, Mid 30s: A bit out of shape and not excited to climb the many steps into the Bratter’s apartment on multiple occasions. Harry Pepper just wants to do his job without having a heart attack or getting caught in the middle of Corie and Paul having a huge fight.
Delivery Man (Non-Speaking Role) – Male, 60s: Clearly too old to be delivering packages, the Delivery Man is so exhausted climbing the steps to the Bratter’s apartment, he can’t even speak.

BAREFOOT IN THE PARK SYNOPSIS:
Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she’s a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find – too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does. Paul just doesn’t understand Corie, as she sees it. He’s too staid, too boring, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous. Running “barefoot in the park” would be a start…
