Bainbridge Performing Arts is thrilled to host combined July auditions for three great musicals coming next season: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT and SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM.
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS runs October 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26 with a Pay-What-You-Can-Preview October 9. Rehearsals extend August-September 2014 – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. plus Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. BPA is seeking four lead women, four lead men and an ensemble of between six and 12 adult and teen performers for this deviously delicious sci-fi smash musical. Tim Davidson, who most recently appeared as Crumpet the Elf in The Santaland Diaries, crosses the footlights to direct BPA’s season opener. He teams with Musical Director Josh Anderson (Shrek, The Musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Avenue Q).
MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT runs December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21 with a Pay-What-You-Can-Preview December 4. Rehearsals extend October- November, 2014 – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. plus Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. BPA is seeking one lead woman, six lead men and an ensemble of between 12 and 20 adult and teen performers for this hilarious musical retelling of the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Directed by Ken Michels (The Full Monty, Shrek, The Musical, The Santaland Diaries,The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Avenue Q) with Musical Direction by Josh Anderson.
SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM runs February 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, and 22 with a Pay-What-You-Can-Preview February 12. Rehearsals extend December 2014- February 2015 – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. plus Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. BPA is seeking five – seven vocally versatile men and women for this flexible cast. Singers who play instruments are highly encouraged to audition. The sophistication, wit, insight, heart and genius of Broadway’s most innovative and influential artist is at the center of this tribute to composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Direction and Musical Direction is provided by Josh Anderson.
All roles are open to audition. Those auditioning should prepare a one-two minute monologue and 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be provided but those auditioning must bring sheet music – clearly marked and in a three-ring binder. Please - no outside accompanists or acapella singing.
