Synopsis: Carol Bird is born on Christmas Day. As she grows into childhood, she brings light and joy to all around her even as her own light grows dimmer. And this Christmas, Carol decides she needs the help of her own family to bring a true Christmas to the family living across the alley.

The seven Ruggles children have little to share but each other. Music fills this family show: the Bird family’s celebration of Christmas; the Ruggles children learning how to behave at this special Christmas adventure across the alley; and carols filling the evening from start to final curtain. Carol Bird welcomes your entire family to a joyously heart-warming Christmas.

Additional Notes:

The Creative Team of A CAROL OF THE BIRDS wants all children in the cast to have a happy, stress-free, artistic experience. We know one of the best ways to make that happen is to let parents/guardians know what is expected.
Here are some ways they can help.

  • Be sure the child is here at 6:30 in order to allow for leaving about 8:30. Delays by one person affect everyone in the show.
  • Homework will be welcome at rehearsals.
  • Cell phones will not be allowed. Kids are welcome to have them, but they may only be used before rehearsals start and after they finish, or during breaks.
  • Be sure the child does not have commitments that conflict with rehearsals. Every actor has a rehearsal schedule and is expected to attend all rehearsals as indicated on the schedule.
  • Illness is an acceptable excuse for absence, of course. Notify an appropriate production member as early as possible.
  • Adults will be welcome to join our production team. The production team is always in need of more hands to help. They need to be notified of your interest as soon as possible.

NOTICE: ALL CAST AND CREW WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT DOCUMENTS FOR CENTRAL REGISTRY CLEARANCE THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES.
