SMTC HOLDING OPEN AUDITIONS “42ND STREET” FEATURING STARS FROM TV, FILM & BROADWAY!
Scottsdale Musical Theater Company is conducting auditions for their July 2018 production of the classic musical 42nd Street (July 6 - 15, 2018 at Tempe Center for the Arts.)
Charles Shaughnessy (TV’s “The Nanny”, “Days of Our Lives”, Broadway’s Urinetown) will portray director Julian Marsh. He will be joined by 3-time Grammy Award-winning recording icon Debby Boone (#1 hit “You Light Up My Life”, Broadway’s 7 Brides for 7 Brothers) as diva Dorothy Brock and rising Broadway starlet Eloise Kropp (Dames at Sea, On the Town, Cats) as Anytime Annie. Ms. Kropp will also create the show’s tap choreography.

Appointment-only auditions are Saturday, March 24th - 1:00PM SINGING; 3:00PM DANCE
Sunday, March 25th - 6:00PM SINGING; 8:00PM DANCE

Stipend: There will be a $300 stipend provided
Singing/Acting Call
Audition times will be assigned every 5 minutes. Please prepare a selection of 32 bars or less. You will need to have sheet music in the proper key; an accompanist will be provided. No CDs or acapella singing will be allowed. Please do not sing anything from the show. You may also be asked to do a second vocal selection of 16 bars or less and/or a monologue, not to exceed 1 minute.

Dance Call
Once you have finished singing, please warm up and be ready to dance. Please wear dance appropriate clothes and shoes. There will be a tap and a jazz routine taught.. All females should wear character heels if possible. Tap shoes are required for the tap portion of the dance call.
