Bats had a wee holiday over the Easter weekend and is back refreshed, revitalised and ready to dive straight into it.
Opening tomorrow night is Hedda Gabler. This Ibsen classic gets a very urban Wellington make over, and the cast look all set to explode with their adaptation of this mean classic play.
Bats very own out-going Business manager Clare Kerrison, (out going in the sense that she is leaving us at the end of the month and she is genuinely outgoing) can be also be seen in the mix playing the title role. Check out next week Batsmail for more info on Clare’s going away/ farewell drinks.
If you can’t wait til tomorrow night for Hedda Gabler, you can always come and check out the preview tonight for only $10. Yeah that right baby, you did hear right! $10 preview tickets for Hedda Gabler for tonight. It's our AGM this weekend for all Bats shareholders, on Saturday 18 April at 3pm, maybe we'll see you there. Would you like to buy a share? Email us and we can send you the guff!

How does the most beautiful, charismatic yet volatile woman in literature exist and yet refuse to live in today’s more liberal, multicultural society? Trapping herself in the expectations of those around her and dissatisfied with her own existence, she snatches to control anything. Or anyone…
The Wild Duck adapt, crush and throw Ibsen’s nineteenth century classic into the vernacular of Courtenay Place.
Remember her?
Starring Clare Kerrison, Asalemo Tofete, Amy Tarleton, Salesi Le'ota, Mike Ness and Tupe Lualua
Designed by Ulli Briese (Metamorphosis)

Light your way home.
Two actors. Nine characters. 85 luminescent minutes.
Chinese New Year's Eve is when families get together, eat like gluttons and sweep the house clean of any bad-luck issues before the New Year. Unfortunately for the Chen family, there are rather a lot of issues. Henry is a broken man, consumed by memories of war and immigration. His children Jen and Ken are still trying to figure out the basics of who they really are. And then his wife Rose, who walked out of their lives a year ago, reappears just before dinnertime….
Written by emerging NZ-Chinese playwright Renee Liang and featuring an all-Chinese cast, Lantern is not a play about being Asian, or even about being Kiwi-Asian. It's a play about what it means to be family.
See the play that sold out its debut season at Smackbang Theatre (Auckland) in 2008.
The Pit Bar

On Friday night straight after Hedda Gabler finishes there will be a awesome gig on at The Pit Bar, starring the infamous Kim Potter. His comedy timing is impeccable, so no doubt this gig will be too! Check him out here.
