LUCKY STIFF at the 4th Wall Theatre, Bloomfield
Based on The Man Who Broke The Bank At Monte Carloby Michael Butterworth
From the creators of Ragtime and A Man of No Importance, this well-oiled musical farce concerns Harry, a mild-mannerEd English shoe salesman, who must take his recently murdered (and embalmed) uncle to Monte Carlo in order to inherit six million dollars. If Harry doesn't fulfill the task, all of the money will go to the Universal Dog Home in Brooklyn...and Harry hates dogs! Filled with zany characters and plenty of plot twists, this show is a delight from beginning to end!
June 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 at Westminster Arts Center in Bloomfield. http://www.4thwalltheatre.org/

SHAKESPEARE THEATER OF NEW JERSEY, Madison Shakespeare's pastoral comedy "As You Like It" (June 19-July 28) will be presented outdoors at the amphitheater on the College of Saint Elizabeth campus. At the F. M. Kirby Shakespeare Theater at Drew University, the company will stage "The Playboy of the Western World" (May 29-June 23), Noel Coward's "Fallen Angels" (July 3-28 ) and more. (973) 408-5600, shakespearenj.org.

SURFLIGHT THEATER Beach Haven. Sometimes the cliché "The show must go on" just plain fits. Over the last few years, Surflight has survived bankruptcy, a fire that damaged company housing and, most recently, $750,000 worth of damage from Hurricane Sandy. Regardless, a full season is planned, including "The Boy Friend" (May 24-June 16), "George M!" (June 19-July 7), "South Pacific" (July 10-28), "LES MISERABLES" (July 31-Aug. 24) and "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" (Aug. 28-Sept. 8). (609) 492-9477, surflight.org.
