People always say sharing is caring, a phrase commonly heard all over the world, but our theatre takes this meaning to a whole other level. Yes, sometimes it's caring, but sometimes in our theatre community, it's just sharing. Here I'm writing the top (ish) five things our theatre group shares, whether it be for better or worse:

1. Colds

One person gets it and the next day, we're all down for the count. Even though colds aren't so fun, there are some perks, like stage crew having to fill in during rehearsals. It's not fun to be missing people, but it sure is fun to watch them fill in. (Don't tell the other crew, sometimes I (crewie by heart) love filling in.)

2. Gum

The most constant question I hear around our theatre is, “Does anyone have gum?” and even though there’s no gum allowed on stage, we all chew it anyway haha.

3. Scripts

The panic that strikes when you forget your script at home is a panic no one wishes to feel. If you get lucky, someone might not need theirs that day and graciously share it.

4. Clothes

You're overheating? Don't worry, I think I got an extra shirt in my bag.

5. Memories

By far my favorite is the memories we all share together. I truly don't think I laugh or smile more anywhere else than in a theatre. Even though we are all different people, different grades, different friend groups, and all, at the end of the day we come together to put on a great show and make some of the best memories we are so lucky to have.

Sharing is like the invisible string of theatre, holding us all together, and helping to give us memories we will hold onto forever.
