-Murder for Two

Murder for Two is a refreshingly original murder mystery show. You will be wholly entertained by the suspenseful plot, clever comedy and delightful music. The production is now onstage at the George Street Playhouse (GSP) stage through October 25th. This madcap, two-hander stars Joe Kinosian and Ian Lowe. Directed by Scott Schwartz, the book and music is by Joe Kinosian with book and lyrics by Kellen Blair.

Murder for Two is the tale of Officer Marcus Moscowicz, a small town policeman with dreams of becoming a detective. When American Novelist, Arthur Whitney is shot to death at his own surprise birthday party, Moscowicz works to prove his investigative skills with the help of his silent partner, Lou. This is a real whodunit with a group of zany suspects that include Mrs. Whitney, Arthur's wife, Stef, a college student studying criminology, Barrette Lewis, the prima ballerina and Dr. Griff, the psychiatrist.

Murder for Two is a fast-paced, vibrant production, wonderfully performed. Ian Lowe captures the role of Marcus Moscowicz, a rather anxious and serious cop who hopes to crack the murder case in a short time. Complicating his investigation is a plethora of curious party guests, all portrayed by Joe Kinosian. Kinosian seamlessly transitions from the role of dancer to doctor to wife and back again. His portrayals are fascinating and completely convincing. There are moments when you will believe that there are a dozen characters on stage. Lowe and Kinosian also prove their outstanding musicianship with creative piano pieces that are memorable and they keep the show really moving.

Murder for Two is a thrilling production and so much more. Gather your group, and play "Clue" along with Officer Moscowicz. You might even figure out who stole the ice cream.

Murder For Two is on the George Street Playhouse stage through October 25th. The renowned Playhouse is located at 9 Livingston Avenue in the heart of the city's vibrant theatre and restaurant district. Five and three-play subscription packages for George Street Playhouse are currently on sale as are flexible admission passes and individual tickets.
