The Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) will present the classic films you loved as a kid as they were meant to be seen - on the big screen in a motion picture palace - when it holds a "Festival of Olde Tyme Shorts" on Sunday, Feb. 7th at 1:00 p.m. at their Mainstage venue in the heart of Rahway.
Bring the whole family out to enjoy such classics as Popeye "In the Army Now," Betty Boop's "Rise to Fame," Woody Woodpecker in "Picnic Panic," the Three Stooges in "Disorder in the Court," and the Little Rascals in "Little Rascals Follies."
Tickets are only $10, so come out and enjoy an afternoon of fun films as you share your childhood memories with a new generation of fans.
UCPAC will continue their classic film series with the silent version of "Kings of Kings" on March 6th and "Metropolis" on May 14th. The Mainstage performance venue is actually a beautifully renovated 1928 picture palace, where these movies were originally screened. The silent films features on March 6th and March 14th will feature live accompaniment on the theater's Wurlitzer organ.
UCPAC's Mainstage is located at 1601 Irving Street in the heart of Rahway's Arts District and easily accessible to major roads and public transportation. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the box office at 732-499-8226 or visit the website at www.ucpac.org.
