On the most important night of his life, Oscar-nominated Tyler Johnes discovers, heaven isn’t what he thought it would be.

In Fact, it more closely resembles a doctor’s waiting room set in an Irish Bar. With the help of his agent, ex-wife and crotchety bar-keep named Seamus, Tyler has one night to prove his life (and death) were not wasted.

Best-Selling Author Mitch Albom (“Tuesdays With Morrie” and “The Five People You Meet In Heaven” brings to the stage this poignant comedy about discovering the things in life that are truly important. Laughter and life lessons abound in this celebration of life, death and a night at the Oscars.

Casting will be for the following roles:

Tyler Johnes – (Male, late 30’s – late 40’s, 330 Speeches) Good looking, stereotypical arrogant Hollywood actor. Tyler is so full of himself, he cannot think of one nice thing he has ever done for anyone else. He doesn’t care who he has to step on to get to the top.

Seamus- (Male, 50’s – 70’s, 180 Speeches) The Barkeeper who has the keys to St. Peter’s Heavenly Gate. Quick witted, yet naïve to what is happening in the modern world. Must have a good Irish accent.

Teddy LaPetite- (Male, 40’s-50’s, 110 Speeches) Tyler’s agent, the typical Hollywood salesman. He has lots of panache. The only one who really likes Tyler and the main person giving him advice. Must have a French accent.

Sheri – (Female, mid-late 30’s-40’s, 100 speeches) Tyler’s soon to be “ex-wife.” Pivotal character in revealing Tyler’s true nature. She still loves him, but can’t cope with the Hollywood baggage that comes with being the wife of a famous actor.

Kyle Morgan (Male, mid-late 20’s-30’s, 75 Speeches) Young, up and coming handsome actor who was Tyler’s Co-star at one time. Tyler despises him, thinking Kyle had an affair with his wife. Tyler also realizes Kyle is the “next best thing.”

Actors will need to perform several rolling stunts and moves.

Serenity (Female, 20’s 40 Speeches) Perky, pretty, funny “blonde bombshell” who is Very “Blonde.” Tyler’s girlfriend. Small, but fun Character role. Actress gets to come down the slide.
