Following the first installment of my Theatre Miniature series - a profile of Curt Dale Clark (Broadway World October 22, 2016) - this second mini-video takes a look at the indefatigable Executive and Artistic Director of Portland's Good Theater, Brian P. Allen. Allen, together with the company's co-founder, Stephen Underwood, are celebrating their fifteenth season at the Good Theater in residence at the St. Lawrence Center for the Arts, where Allen directs, acts, and often writes material. Born into a well-known Maine blueberry dynasty, Allen became smitten with theatre in elementary school, went on to work for the redoubable Victoria Crandall at Brunswick Music Theatre (now Maine State Music Theatre), and freelanced as a director for a time, before establishing the Good Theater. The film uses footage from Allen's one-man show, Bluberries, Broadway, and Brian as well as live interview clips and material from the Good archives.
One more testimony to the richness of Maine's theatre landscape! Enjoy!
