Natalia Lafourcade last collaborated with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the summer of 2019. Since then, much has changed for the acclaimed Mexican singer and songwriter. In 2022, she put out her first album of original material in seven years, the stunning *De Todas las Flores*: a raw, deeply personal album that she’s called a “musical diary.” It represents a new lyrical and musical direction for the songwriter, who has won 18 Latin Grammys, more than any other female performer. “One of my most profound inspirations was Mother Earth and her energy,” she’s said. “I had never explored something like that in my music: the cadence of water, of wind, of a storm, of a wave, of fire, of the playfulness that exists in all the elements in balance.” She looks unflinchingly at heartbreak, death, grief—and joy. *The Washington Post* says these songs “resist easy classification, spanning genres such as Latin folk and jazz, son jarocho, bossa nova, cumbia, and bolero,” while *The New York Times* says, “Lafourcade’s music is about processing darkness until it sprouts rays of light.” *De Todas las Flores* was hailed as among the year’s best albums by *NPR* and *Rolling Stone*, won Best Singer-Songwriter Album and was nominated for Best Album at the Latin Grammys, and is nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 2024 Grammys. Alongside the LA Phil, she’ll perform a unique set that honors culture, memories, and the special collaboration between herself and Gustavo Dudamel.
