Laurie Sefton Creates at LA Dance Project

Laurie Sefton is an award-winning choreographer, director and creative thinker, a Los Angeles native and granddaughter of a Cuban immigrant.  She presents the world premiere of Herd. Person? A dense and detailed work which explores mob vs personhood.  Inspired by the events of January 6th and the reality of late-stage democracy in America, Herd. Person? encompasses apathy, acceptance, and deindividuation.  This work takes audience members on a journey through the lens of different states of mind; from individual thought to herd mentality.  The evening is rounded out by repertory works by Sefton including Experience in Defiance and an excerpt from Girl, Get Off.  Much of the evening is performed to original works by Erika Poh, Bryan, Curt Kostors, Sasha Matson and spoken word artist Jason Chu.
