Cheyenne Jackson to Host Lambda Legal's West Coast Liberty Awards Gala, 6/13

Cheyenne Jackson will lead Lambda Legal's West Coast Liberty Awards Red Carpet Fundraising Gala as the Liberty Awards Host, which celebrates those working towards Lambda Legal's vision of equality. Bravo TV's Million Dollar Listing star Madison Hildebrand will also join in the evening's celebrations as the Red Carpet Host. This year's honorees include Scandal's Dan Bucatinsky, The Fosters Executive Producers/Showrunners Bradley Bredeweg, Joanna Johnson and Peter Paige, Congressman Henry A. Waxman, and transgender advocate Bamby Salcedo. The West Coast Liberty Awards are on Friday, June 13th, at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.

As the country's largest legal organization, Lambda Legal has worked for more than 40 years to achieve full recognition of civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people and those living with HIV. Their annual West Coast Liberty Awards celebration is an evening of tribute to those who have made an impact on the lives of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through advocacy, entertainment, legal and civic contributions, honoring outstanding individuals and organizations each year.

"The work Lambda Legal is doing is so crucial and important, so I was very touched and excited when they asked me to host this year's Liberty Awards," says Jackson.

As Out Magazine's "Entertainer of the Year," Jackson is an award-winning actor, singer, and songwriter, recently starring on and off Broadway and appearing in Behind The Candelabra, with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. His television credits include the NBC hit 30 Rock and Glee as the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline.

Jackson has performed to sold out crowds at Carnegie Hall , the New York Pops, and recently at Walt Disney Concert Hall for "Music of the Mad Men Era," and to another sold-out crowd for his new album, I'm Blue, Skies. In addition to his advocacy for equality, Jackson also remains very active in a variety of charities and social issues, including LGBT rights, marriage equality and HIV/AIDS research, as an international ambassador for The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR), and also serves as the national ambassador and spokesperson for The Hetrick-Martin Institute and the Harvey Milk High School.

Most widely known as the original cast member of Bravo TV's hit reality show Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and as a contributing host on E! News, Madison Hildebrand will lead the 2014 Red Carpet festivities. As President and Founder of The Malibu Life, Inc., Hildebrand is one of the world's most recognizable faces in the world of real estate, continually crowned as one of the "Top Producing Agents." He is involved in numerous organizations and charitable institutions, currently serving as a Board Member of the Malibu Boys and Girls Club and a past Board Director of the Malibu Association of Realtors. Hildebrand is also an acclaimed public speaker, author of the book Activate Your Passion, Create Your Career, a Brand Ambassador for DocuSign, and he also produces a national seminar tour where he coaches realtors across the country on creating their own personal and professional blueprint for success.

This year's West Coast Liberty Awards honorees include Scandal's Dan Bucatinsky, for the way in which he embraces the challenge of playing gay characters whose lives so closely mirror his own, fighting stereotype and stigma in the living rooms of every household that tunes into his shows. Presenter Candis Cayne (Elementary, Dirty Sexy Money) will present to Transgender advocate Bamby Salcedo will be recognized, highlighting her activism and work on issues of HIV prevention, criminal justice, substance abuse treatment and prevention and economic and professional development for queer, transgender people, and especially youth. The Fosters Executive Producers/Showrunners Bradley Bredeweg, Joanna Johnson and Peter Paige will receive Lambda Legal's Liberty Award for the work they have done to give a voice to LGBT families through the creation of their show and for the impact they've had in creating an environment of increasing tolerance and acceptance, and Representative Henry A. Waxman from California's Westside Los Angeles 33rd Congressional District will be recognized by Lambda Legal at the West Coast Liberty Awards for his decades-long commitment to protecting those with HIV as a legislator and lead author of the Ryan White CARE and Affordable Care Acts.

The 2014 Awards Honorary Committee includes Sherri Saum, Joshua Malina, Khandi Alexander, Rebecca Mader, Joe Mantegna, Charles Michael Davis, Dot Marie Jones, Holly Robinson Peete, Danny Franzese, Ming-Na Wen, Pablo Schreiber, Raphael Sbarge, David Glasser, Tony Denison, Mircea Monroe, Renee Olstead, Tiya Sircar and others.
