Vocal Music Director for 9 to 5 the Musical - Golden Ticket Productions

Golden Ticket Productions is a nonprofit community theater organization. We are seeking a Vocal Music Director for our summer 2023 musical, "9 to 5 The Musical" to be performed at the Buffalo Grove Community Arts Center in Buffalo Grove, IL.



The Vocal Music Director will be responsible for:



Auditioning the singers and making casting recommendations to the director

Scheduling music rehearsals in collaboration with the director, choreographer and stage manager

Leading music rehearsals for principals and chorus; providing accompaniment at all vocal rehearsals

Helping cast members learn their music

Working with the sound designer when microphones will be used

Attending production meetings and rehearsals, as needed

This role does NOT have to form or conduct an orchestra, and should be comfortable working with performance tracks.



Must have strong musical and piano skills, good communication, and organizational ability.



TIME COMMITMENT:



Auditions: Friday, May 12 (evening); Saturday, May 13 (afternoon), and Sunday, May 21 (afternoon).



Rehearsals: Mid June to early/mid August 2023, typically 1-2 evenings per week for approximately 3 hours each, plus four tech-week rehearsals. Blocking and music rehearsals will be held on specific weekday evenings (days TBD) from 7:00-10:00pm in Palatine, IL and/or Buffalo Grove, IL. We will work with the chosen music director to determine actual music rehearsal dates.

$1,500 Stipend
