Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking a VENUE COORDINATOR for The Pershing Square Signature Center on West 42nd Street.



About Signature

Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre celebrates playwrights and gives them an artistic home, producing six to eight productions annually. In 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. In 2012, Signature opened The Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices.

Position Summary

The Venue Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Production and Facilities and works closely with the production, rentals, and general management teams. The primary role is overseeing production aspects of rentals and internal supplemental programming at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing calendar and space management software.

• Serve as production liaison for all rental entities.

o Accompany rental clients on tours explaining the functionality and production capabilities of the Center.

o Coordinate and facilitate walkthroughs with rental clients before and after load in and strike of long- and short-term rentals.

o Schedule all rental production labor

o Manage all rental production logistics.

o Work closely with rental clients, facilities, and department supervisors to make sure all needs are met in a safe and timely manner.

o Ensure all Center safety procedures are followed.

o Assist with physical set up of space for rentals.

o Assess what production equipment is available for rental use.

• Production manage Signature Theatre special events as needed including the annual gala

• Responsible for processing weekly payroll for rental labor.



Desired Experience

o Experience in theatrical production, stage management, production management or venue management

o Calendar management experience is a plus

o The ideal candidate will have customer service experience

o 1-2 years in a creative role or institution, or in a non-profit setting

Desired Skills

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

o Skilled at project management, and able to navigate competing deadlines

o Detail oriented

o Ability to work constructively with multiple departments



Compensation

This is a full-time salaried exempt position with an annual salary of $60,000 – $65,000.

Next Steps

First round interviews will be scheduled beginning October 24th. There will be an estimated 2-3 rounds of interviews. We will be aiming to make an offer for this position by November 15th, with a desired start date no later than December 1st. This position must be able to have flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed and must be able to report in person in the office Tuesday–Friday and work remotely on Mondays (exceptions may apply).
