Position Overview
Focusing on Second Stage Theater’s Off-Broadway ticketing, this role will serve as the Box Office Manager for all Off-Broadway productions, as well as perform other key functions within the Ticket Services Department. This role will work closely with several other departments on a daily basis. This role requires skills in effective multi-tasking, general accounting, project management, and customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Serve as the Box Office Manager for all Off-Broadway Second Stage productions, to include management of a team of part-time associates, if applicable (in conjunction with the Audience Services Manager)
• Manage and track dynamic pricing for the Off-Broadway productions
• Settle Off-Broadway performances with Company Management and House Management
• Reconcile sales information at the end of each Off-Broadway production run with the Finance Department
- Manage third-party sales, reconciliation, and approval and tracking of commissions payments
- Keep the box office appropriately stocked
- Monitor and report on Off-Broadway sales trends, audience sizes, and customer reactions
· In conjunction with the Hayes Theater Box Office Head Treasurer, develop, implement, and manage internal box office procedures and processes, to include cash handling, transaction auditing, and customer service, to ensure consistency in all Second Stage spaces
· Manage the posting of daily sales batches for the organization
· In conjunction with the Ticket Operations Manager, track, respond to, and report on financial disputes through Second Stage’s gateway processor
· Manage the Ticket Donation Program, including the creation, distribution, and redemption of donated ticket vouchers for external nonprofit organizations
• Assist the Audience Services Manager with phone room operations, as needed
• Perform other duties to support the Ticket Services Department, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in Ticketing, Marketing and/or Customer Service, preferably in a theater or other performing arts organization
• Strong leadership skills; at least one year of people management experience strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• General accounting and cash-handling skills
• General data-analysis skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize effectively, and attention to detail
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Tessitura or similar CRM/ticketing systems required

Work Environment
Time will be spent in a box office with quiet to moderate noise level and occasionally in the theatre with often loud and amplified noises. The office environment requires using the computer, phone, and other routine office equipment. Majority of the work will be performed inside at room temperature.
Physical Requirements
Position requires long periods of sitting. While sitting in the office, employee is required to use hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboard and other office equipment. The employee may often use stairs throughout the day and walk throughout the theatres.
Hours of Work
Core days/hours for this position follow show schedules and will require evenings and weekends.
