Theatre Attendant - Coppell Arts Center

Basic Function:

The Coppell Arts Center is the next great addition to our City's legacy. Our goal for the Coppell Arts Center is to create a gathering place that honors local artists and presents first-class entertainment and diverse cultural experiences for the citizens of Coppell and North Texas residents. Under the general direction of the City of Coppell’s leadership and the Patron Services Supervisor, the Theater Attendant is responsible for assisting staff with day-to-day business, including but not limited to event changeovers and acting as Supervisor on Duty for weekend and evening rehearsals at the Coppell Arts Center. The Theater Attendant will also be required to assist with front-of-house activities. This position should be able to seek information through shared software to answer basic questions and solve problems.

Essential Job Functions:

-Responsible for implementing event changeovers as instructed

-Provide assistance to patrons and clients during rehearsals, performances, and private rental events.

-Patrol and maintain the Facility, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and secure

-Monitor Resident Company after-business hours rehearsals as the Supervisor on Duty

-Report or log all incidents and related activities

-Assist with each department as needed, with a primary focus on the execution of events

-Perform light housekeeping around the Facility

-Performs other related duties as requested, required or assigned

Skills/Abilities:

-The Theater Attendant must demonstrate superior customer service and patron conflict patron conflict resolution skills. This position must demonstrate excellent verbal and good written communication skills as well as a basic understanding of public safety and accessibility requirements for a public assembly venue.

-The position must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays at irregular hours and long periods standing. This employee must possess the ability to effectively plan and prioritize tasks.

-Essential job functions require moving and lifting heavy objects, mainly tables and chairs, to set up events. Also, to operate a personal computer with a variety of software applications to prepare reports, correspondence, and other documentation from events and rehearsals. The ability to effectively communicate with City officials, employees, and members of the general public using the English language verbally and in writing is essential.

-Knowledge of guest services and customer service techniques in a live entertainment setting.

-Knowledge of conflict resolution to achieve guest satisfaction is highly desired.

-Knowledge of basic life safety practices and procedures in public assembly setting is highly desired.

-Knowledge of basic ADA regulations and requirements in a public assembly setting is highly desired.

-Knowledge of ticketing manifests and audience management is also desired.

Experience:

-High School Diploma/GED

-Experience working in a theater (technical or otherwise) is preferred

-Must have a valid Driver’s license because essential job functions may require travel to various sites within the City

Working Environment:

The Theater Attendant performs approximately 15% of essential job duties in the municipal office environment, with the remaining 85% consisting of evening and weekend shifts during Arts Center rehearsals and events.

Leadership Relationship:

The Theater Attendant reports directly to the Patron Services Supervisor.


Salary: $15.00 Hourly
