As anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment and legislation continue to take hold across the nation, including Florida’s “don’t say gay” bill, Iron Crow Theatre has commissioned a new educational TYA musical aimed at celebrating the queer history-makers who have changed our society and our world.

WHO WE ARE
Iron Crow Theatre is an award-winning, professional, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and Baltimore’s queer theatre. Iron Crow Theatre produces queer theatre for a queer city, celebrating the renegade and the unorthodox in all of us.

SEEKING
3 non-Equity performers who sing of any age, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, race, or ethnicity.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals take place during late afternoons/evenings in Baltimore, MD for two to three weeks in August at Loyola University, Maryland. Exact rehearsal dates and times are specific to production needs and the availability of the cast. All performers cast must be available for two mandatory rehearsal days with the original composer and orchestrator on August 14 and 15.
PERFORMANCES
Performances will take place at public and private schools across the state of Maryland throughout the 22/23 academic year.
SUBMISSION DETAILS
Auditions will be held via online submission only. For consideration, please submit a one-minute comedic monologue and 32 bars of a song from a published piece of theatre and/or a musical theatre selection of your choice that best shows off your range and ability. Both selections (in any order and/or cut) should not exceed three minutes in length. Also, include with your submission a digital headshot and resume. Portfolios/personal websites may also be submitted for review. No physical mailings. Submit all materials in one email to casting@ironcrowtheatre.org. Submissions will be accepted until July 20 or until all roles are filled.
PAYMENT
Non-Equity: $250 per rehearsal week and $100 per performance. Mileage to and from performances will be reimbursed at the current IRS non-profit mileage reimbursement rate of 14 cents per mile as set by Federal statute. Performance weeks vary based on booking details.
HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION
Local housing and reliable transportation are required and not provided.
