Scenic Carpenter (Summer Seasonal) - The Glimmerglass Festival

The Glimmerglass Festival seeks a Scenic Carpenter for its 2023 Festival Season.



The Scenic Carpenter works as a member of a seven person carpentry crew. The Scenic Carpenter reports to the Head Carpenter and ATD of Scenery Operations and works alongside other Scenic Carpenters and two Scenic Carpentry Apprentices. The primary goals of the position will include assisting with the construction of five mainstage productions and a children’s opera. There may be some general carpentry projects around campus as well during down time. Basic wood construction and welding knowledge is needed to find success in the position. Some projects will be worked on independently, while other projects will require working in a group setting. The responsibilities of this position require the employee to be physically present on campus to complete the tasks assigned. Some training opportunities may be available. Commitment to safe work habits and shop practices is essential. Must be willing to abide by Glimmerglass Festival’s current and potential future Covid-19 policies, including testing and wearing a mask on campus.



This position runs May 1 to August 27, 2023. $16.50/Hr. Includes housing.
