This position is responsible for planning and coordinating all productions at the Performing Arts School. Candidate must have a vast knowledge of plays, an understanding and interest in the New York theatre community, and general knowledge of the technical aspects of production (lighting, sound, costumes, and carpentry). Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop, InDesign, and industry software. 2-3 years of experience preferred.
Hours are primarily afternoon/evening and are flexible based on upcoming projects.
This is a full-time position with hours ranging from 24-40 per week, depending on the season. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Recommending plays to be performed by students
- Working closely with other departments and administration to handle all aspects of production
- Maintaining production calendar and creating budgets/tracking expenses
Creating and executing contracts, editing programs, posters, and other internal publications
- Coordinating all design elements and work with the technical director to ensure that all technical requirements are met
Maintaining our two 80-seat theaters with TD
- Coordinating all administrative aspects of productions, screenings, and special events
- Facilitating our new play commissioning program
- Creating and maintaining partnerships and collaborations with other theatre organizations and professional directors
Acting as a point person for production and event related press
